How are school districts? Property taxes and very importantly the commute to NYC?

My lived in River Edge, The schools are good, property taxes to"me" are high, but it is a nice town , small quiet, and has alot of convienences. As far as to NYC, I am sorry , I am not sure, hopefully someone else might know.
