Hello all,

I'm from State College, Pennsylvania and I plan to move to New Jersey for work in June/July 2023. The office is located in Berkeley Heights, near the Embassy Suites. I will be moving with my partner who currently has some major health issues and needs to use a wheelchair. We are in our early 30s, love trying different cuisines, and enjoy artsy stuff.

We are looking to rent a 1- or 2-bedroom apartment/house with accessible features (e.g. no stairs from entrance to bedroom and bathroom, walk-in shower instead of bathtub) near my office. I'm open to 20-minute commute but probably no more than that just in case my partner has some emergency and needs me while I'm at work. Our budget is $2200.

Do you know of any safe neighborhoods/apartment complexes near Berkeley Heights/Plainfield where we can find accessible housing?

Thank you in advance!

Offhand no, but that is a generally safe area and I think someone more familiar with local real might know. i would suspect there are such as you have a large hospital nearby in Summit also.

The whole area in a 20 minute radius around Berkley Heights is nice, with a lot diverse cuisines (NJ probably has some of the most mom-pop/diverse cuisine in the country imo). I don't have any specifics on apartments, but there should really be a large supply of places out there.
