We are considering moving to NJ and want to know more about Summit... Can anyone shed some light on this?

Summit is a great, but pricey town. Schools are also very good there. Some people will tell you you than the eastern part of Summit is ghetto (because it's not as rich as the rest of the town) but that is pure rubbish. There is NOTHING ghetto about Summit.

Summit is a beautiful town, has a great little downtown, and is on the Midtown Direct which is perfect for commuting into NYC.

If you are looking in that area, I'd suggest looking in Chatham as well. You can get a little more house/land for your money in Chatham (Twp) and Chatham schools are excellent.
We decided on Chatham over Summit but I think it's really a matter of personal taste. Summit does have a great little downtown (better than Chatham IMO). Either way you can't go wrong.
