I would LOVE recommendations for leasing/rental buildings in Jersey City that will accept large (bully breed) dogs. We have vet/previous landlord referrals. I also volunteer with Guide Dog/Service Dog organizations and would be bringing home a puppy-in-training periodically.
Thank you so much, I know my fellow dog lovers will have some great advice.

Why do that to a large dog?

Default "The Why" for Mike_J

I think you're asking bc you care about animals and I can appreciate that.

The Mutt: He's 11 years old and just wants to go for short walks and sleep on a comfy couch next to his people. I'm trying hard to find a 1 level unit with an elevator just so he doesn't have to climb any stairs. Even a few stairs (like on an entrance to a home) are tough for him.

The Guide Dog Pups: They need the experience of living in buildings since many of their future handlers will be living in similar situations. They will get lots of exercise at the park and daily trainings.

Thank you for caring about animals. I can assure you that my intentions are pure and my big bully mutt and future guide dog pups are very happy.

I thinking more about the other tenants of the building , yes I am a dog owner and lover. While the building might accept animals it can't speak for all the other tenants. In your own words a "big bully" breed, while I am sure at 11 years old is gentle with you would feel more comfortable in a different environment.

You would probably have to talk to each place independently for a special case. I can't imagine any apartment being open arms for large dog breeds for all.

Bull Dogs in particular, need a lot of exercise and don't make good apartment dogs. I understand you are saying the dog is older, but that's going to have to be the decision of the building.
