Capitalism sucks. LOL

Actually his estate is not far from my house. He's at the end of a cul-de-sac but he is wooded off from the neighborhood, can't see anything from the road. There are some aerial shots in the press from time to time. He's been trying to get his taxes farm assessed. He also tried to get the town to allow a fence over 6 feet and it was declined.

The town also had another fiasco with resident Terrell Owens when he was in Philly.

There are some large homes being built off of Closter Dock Road in Alpine....12 homes on 60 acres. All are spec homes, the largest being sold in the $35-40m range.

Most people buying homes in that range will have more than one... so the other is not in Jersey!

Would this involve sit ups in the driveway, with a microphone in his face as was 'performing'?

I wonder if there is something to be said about the mentalities of the owners of such ostentatious homes. Why does someone need 15 bathrooms and 10 bedrooms? Are they trying to buy happiness? I don't think I'd want to live in such excess, it scares me. I came across this piece in Architectural Digest about a couple who fanatically replicated a country house from England and the house is so flamboyant, I do think it indicates a certain sick mentality....

I actually grew up in Closter, right next to Alpine... Now, they might as well blend in together, (its absolutely insane how much it's built up in a matter of 10 years) but at the time, there was more "division"...

The people there (that I'd met anyway) were ridiculous... completely exclusive of anyone who didn't make a high 6 figure salary... I was never happier than the day I moved out of that area.
