I am torn between pergo and ceramic tile for my kitchen and dining room, I prefer pergo buuuuuuut DH wants tiles, ughh. Anybody have recommendations for a good plave to go to? I am tempted to call Empire, maybe Loews?? ....I live in Sussex county. Thanks for any ideas!!
We had tile in kitchen and had throw rugs all over because the floor was so cold. We had it replaced with Pergo and were much happier. I suggest you contact a business that installs only floors. Lowes subcontracts and friends of ours had major problems with a floor installed by them.
Although we were in NJ we used Louie's Hardwood Flooring & Ceramic Tiles in PA. (570) 588-7195. Louie did a fantastic job.

Actually ceramic tiles or pergo isn't hard to install yourself as I've done both.

well hellooooo stranger ; ) We've you been! I would go tile..not a huge pergo fan and tile is less maintenance and more desirable for resale. ; )

We installed really thick Italian Porcelain tile and it's never cold on our feet. The tiles are great. The salesman wasn't kidding when he said you can ice skate on them and you wouldn't scratch or damage them. The installer wasn't too pleased when he saw how thick they were... made cutting them a little more difficult ... We went tile because of the pool... people/kids in and out and dripping on the wooden floor - made sense for us.
I work now Terry lol I miss you too.............I will probably go wi th tiles BUT with WHO I dont want him to install i t would take forever and alot of cursing, I also need carpet soooooooooooo where or whom shall I go to????
thanks all by the way!!! I knew you would all pull thru and I KNEW I would hear from Cucullin our home repair man!! Thanks Joe!! on another note where has Kate been??
I would go tile too, we had a pergo and the minute water goes on it, it kinda gets under the seams and warps. Its not too durable that pergo even dropping things by accident on it make a dent. Go with tile. Try Lowes like you said or a tile store, they have a wayne tile pretty close.
I wouldn't use either. Ceramic is VERY hard on the legs. Standing on this kills after you've made a big dinner or done a lot of baking/cooking. And the Pergo warps.
I have really beautiful vinyl tile in my kitchen - very nice looking, and very easy on the legs.
