Hi, I am new to this forum but not new to NJ. born and bred here and a true Jersey Girl. I live in North Plainfield and am planning on doing some renovations to my home. HOWEVER, i am having some real trouble in obtaining the construction permits! I have brought them everything they asked for and even had the building inspector call me and tell me that everything looked good and that he has signed off on them. problem is that they have had my "folder" for amost a month now and when I go down there to ask if the permits are ready, I get a very cold response of "we will call you when they are done."
I have been very polite and nice to the ladies in the office as well. Waiting for these permits is giving me an ulcer for crying out loud. Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice on how to get the township to give me the permit that I need? Its crazy but I am losing sleep over this mess! Thanks in advance for ANY help anyone can give me.
