i lit my first fire in my new house. it took the chill off and was the perfect way to wind down the day. drove all over watching all the leaves fall and checking out garage sales. i love, love autumn!!!!
I can't wait to get an add-on wood furnace so I can stop buying heating oil! I've got a pretty healthy wood supply going so far though-all I need is a splitter.
I love this weather! Perfect for hayrides and other autumn events. At the same time though, I wonder where all that rain went to. It's been very sunny for days on end.

Hahaha... Brings back a lot of memories of wearing a winter jacket in Florida. It can really get cold down there.
I LOVE it! I took a drive yesterday out to Schooleys Mtn Park. There are a couple of nice meadows out there. I brought my stack of papers to read for work and a thermos full of HOT apple cider, laid out on a blanket, soaked in the sun and cool breeze, and got covered in neon orange maple leaves.

I used to hate this time of year. The oncoming cold meant it was almost time to take my boat out of the water. Thanksgiving weekend the last of the marinas on Lake Hopatcong would force us to take our boats out.
But this time of year was a break from the heat and the crowds of boats. The parks would once again become for the locals as the New Yorkers who flooded the NJ parks would stay home till next spring.
But all the fishing and sporting shows were just around the corner.

I had my eyes open lookin for ya, especially when I passed what appeared to be an autumn fair at a nursery outside Chester. They could've easily rolled out a banner reading "MILF FEST 2008." The Honda Odyssey blondes were out in full force.

Ahh reminds me of my childhood in that area
Now in the city I see very little foliage of any kind
