I have a wife and a 3 year old. Over in Cali we have Kaiser and Pacific care. What health care systems are in NJ that most employers give to their employees, public or private?

Since the economy is headed toward a DEPRESSION (not recession), I must think carefully before I move to NJ. I will try my best
to find a job first. Please give me names of companies or effective job search sites that are local to your area.

I already know about the obvious ones like Monster and CareerBuilder that don't seem to work.

Seeking: Entry Level, Junior, Assistant Electrical Engineer. Any job that has Electrical Engineering in the title that is entry level.

The places that some suggested before were great, thanks for your help.

The big one in New Jersey is Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield. I've seen Aetna and Cigna as options as well. In most businesses, the options will depend on the size of the business and whether or not it is a subsidiary of another company. Depending upon where that umbrella business is located and what other subs are part of the business, you may find other plans being offered.

As for other options for employment listings, you may want to look at the Riley Guide.

Hope this helps.

I hope you realize that entry-level jobs like you're talking about only pay in the $40-50k range, which isn't going to be enough to live even close to comfortably in NJ if you've got a family to support.

You may want to stay in CA. Health insurance are much much more expensive here than there. Mostly are Aetna, BCBS, UHP, United Health Care, Amerihealth, Oxford...etc. Even if it's an employer sponsored group plan it's still much more expensive than those in CA (e.g. expect to pay $200-$500 a month for whole family for employer's plan, since it can cost $1,000 without employer's chipping in). Jobs in your field are not that plentiful in here either. And you have to pay for heat in winter ($400-$600 per month in winter)...And do you like shoveling snow in winter? Spend 15 minutes after work to clean out the snow from your car? (You have to clean out the snow from the car top too since it's the law). I have an EE friend in San Jose and we compare what we pay in utilities and health insurance...yes housing price is lower in NJ but if you are renting, I think you will come out ahead in CA, because your pay is certainly higher in CA. Property tax is very high in NJ if you own.
Effective job sites...try local newspaper sites like nj.com. In your field, you may want to look into the East Coast sub-office of major engineering firms in CA. I bet you'll find mostly sales offices though.

As for the public insurance, NJ only has NJ FamilyCare and Medicaid. For NJ FamilyCare, you need to have no insurance for 3 months. If you require ongoing treatment, of course you can't go without insurance for 3 months, then of course they won't cover you. NJ FamilyCare don't cover pregnant woman. Pregnant women are told to apply for Medicaid, which has very low income limit. CA has much better system. Like me, DH unemployed, can't afford COBRA ($1,100), FamilyCare denied me because I am pregnant. Both NY and PA has program just for pregnant woman, and NJ only has Medicaid.

As for private insurance, it's a guarantee acceptance program, therefore the premiums are very high, and only 6 or 7 companies are willing to sell individual plan, other companies intentionally price themselves out. Although it's guarantee acceptance program, you need to keep yourself covered and have no lapse in coverage for longer than 31 days, or else they won't cover for pre-existing condition. You can see the current rates, which may give you a heart attack. Individual Health Coverage Program Rates
Of course if you keep yourself covered, you can't be eligible for NJ FamilyCare.
So if you lose your group plan, and you are not careful by keeping yourself covered, you can see how you can get stuck in between, not qualify for anything (public or private).

Many people here work just for the benefits.
For healthcare, it's no secret that both NY and PA have better hospitals.
California dreaming.......
