Hi everyone,
We would like to replace our the 11-year-old carpets in our house with laminate flooring. I know some people recommend hardwood, but with 3 cats & a dog, I think laminate will be much easier to keep clean. Can anyone recommend a flooring company? We would need installation as well. We're not too good at the DIY stuff.

We also are looking into getting some rooms painted. Any recommendations for painters?

Thanks!

We used Worldwide wholesale I think its called on rt1 in edison (Next to Stop N Shop and Home Depot). They came in cheaper than almost everyone we talked to (we wanted specific burber rugs and hardwood floors) and they installed 2500sqft 3 days after we paid. I think we saved almost 5k by going with them.

Also, its a little more than laminate but "Pergo" stand up VERY well to abuse and looks amazing!

As for painter. We used a handyman we heard about, goes by the name of Jimmy (I think his real name is Dimitri, realy nice greek guy). He works for himself. I never checked or cared to check his "credentials". He did our Living room, Family room, Dining room, Kitchen, painted all doors and bottom trim for about $1500. Did an awesome job. I dont remember if that included paint or not. All Benjamin Moore. It was 2 years ago. 732-491-3856

I have used Armstrong flooring and Swiftlock - very easy to install you and your husband could do it. (Loews) The slate looks like the real thing and so easy to clean. Good luck w/the install.
