Circuit City sales start today.

Please update this post and share any stories that you may have (amazing sale prices, negotiating for lower prices, etc.)

Good luck!

Another one bites the dust? I'm not a fan of Circuit City... Best Buys tends to have better deals and more selections but I am in the market for another big screen TV so perhaps I will check them out

They're going to do what L&T did - jack up prices and then slash under the guise of "liquidation". People, do your homework before you buy - if you have a problem, you'll be SOL.

Exactly correct T! Wait until march when they "really" need to sell.

I'm going to put this in bold.

The liquidation sales at Circuit City, just like the one at Linens n Things and CompUSA, ARE NOT going to be "good deals". It's a marketing tool to make people THINK they are getting good deals but they really aren't.

Basically what the liquidator will do is reset all the prices to MSRP or even higher, then mark it down so they can CLAIM 20-30% off but it's really about the same price as what CC sold BEFORE the bankruptcy.

You can find out more by reading The Consumerist: Shoppers Bite Back - they've been following the Circuit City death knell for the last year or so.

PS - The last thing I bought from Circuit City was a PS3. With a 10% coupon I got for moving. Saved about 40 bucks.

By that point, most of the good stuff will be gone by people who think they are getting a good deal. Most of the TV's will be gone because of a little thing called "Super Bowl Sunday". It was actually a pretty good move to claim bankruptcy now before the time most people buy new TV's outside of Christmas.
