Our family is in the Navy and will be moving to NJ. My husband will work in Earle, New Jersey. We want to live somewhere that meets the following criteria, please help with any advice.
1. one hour or less commute driving to Earle
2. Good public school system (3rd grade)
3. Rent not buy home, 3 bed at least
4. Walking distance to community (my elderly aunt lives with us, she does not drive and needs things with in walking distance to do)
5. Easy commute to NYC, (meaning close to a train station)
6. Clean and family orientated.
We have lived in Las Vegas, Birmingham, Pensacola, and Baton Rouge.
We are really excited about the "city" environment of the East. Tired of rural south and driving everywhere. Love small communities that you can walk around in. We are visiting NJ this weekend. We will rent a car and drive around for one day (there for alternate reason). Any ideas on where to live or not would be greatly appreciated. THANKS
The job will be lands side (Colts Neck area). Thanks for the info. on Red Landing. We are flying up there this weekend and renting a car to drive around and check out towns. Any other ideas on towns in that area? Thanks for all your help.
Colts neck is very nice..only problem is most nice towns in that area are not cheap rent wise
Not sure if Colts Neck even has any apts..you may find a house to rent
I would include towns like Point Pleasant, Belmar and Red Bank to the south in your search as they are all near the train line, they have downtown areas, and living to the south of Earle is typically less expensive than to the north.
