The one by me is getting ready for Summer.
The way things are I'm sure buying patio stuff is not on the top of any ones list.
This has made me feel a little down...I'm not sure why. Most places go out of business and I couldn't care but Fortunoff was something special. If I remember correctly there was actually a Fortunoff family that owned / ran it.

Yes! That's exactly how I feel. I always liked Fortunoff's - good stuff, nice stores. They always just seemed a notch above the competition without being completely out of reach for most people. This, to me, really is a shame.
Fortunoff is one of those nostalgic NJ businesses. Let me correct that: not just a business, but a niche NJ characteristic that one from the state identifies with. (kind of like when the mural at Alexander's in Paramus was ripped down) I certainly can relate to the melancholy being expressed here.
