We're a military family and we just moved to Westfield. More than likely, we will not be living here more than a little over a year, so we will probably be long gone by summer 2015. Is there any way to get a pool pass for this coming summer? One would think they would push it through in the case of a resident being active duty, but you never know these days.

Great, I misspelled "Westfield" in the thread title and I can't edit the post. How embarrassing, lol.

I am not sure about active duty, but we waited about a year for the pool pass. You can always pay per person/per day rate. We probably paid the same amount of money for the season pass since we didn't go as often as we would have liked. You should contact them here and ask directly.

That's the part I don't really get. Why is there a waiting list for residents? If it was an overcrowding issue, then they wouldn't allow for day passes. If we were residing here long term, it would be a non-issue. But we only have this one summer, most likely.

I don't know the reasons for the waiting list, but I also had to wait a year. As Praxis said, you're better off contacting the recreation office and asking them.

Welcome and thanks for your service.

The town pool is fantastic, but the YMCA is a great place to swim indoors. Best thing - in the summer, it's not that crowded since the residents flock to the town pool. How old are your kids? The YMCA has year-round swimming classes, as well as sports classes and leagues.

Thank you!

We do not have children yet, and we will look into joining the local Y, especially if trying to join the community pool doesn't pan out.
