I am searching a few months in advance. My husband and I (early 30's) are relocating to the NJ area. I will be working near the MetroPark station and he will be commuting into the city 2-3 days a week. We are seeking a 2+ bedroom apt/condo/single home in the price range of 1250-1750. We are trying to get a sense of good places to live near MetroPark and most importantly near train stations (not necessarily Metro). We hear Metuchen, Edison and Westfield are good? Any comments? We wouldn't be opposed to being on the shore either!
You will find any of those areas should suit your needs if you can find something in your price range. I used to live in Oxford Arms over in Edison, by Blueberry Village but that was a long time ago back when Oxford was still fairly new. I'm not sure how much it's change. It was a good spot back then though.
You might hate the shore if you've never been. It gets majorly crowded during the summers and most people who live down there full time can't wait for the "bennies" to go home.
