When does being realistic about what is going on and see things in bad shape equate being so negative?

I see some people angry when the economy seems to get better or say its a ray of hope and especially the housing market. If someone says the market looks 000000000000001% better for the month of March someone is very negitive and its usually the ones who want to buy a home. Just like it works the opposite way. If someone over paid and got blasted and bought super high in 2005, they get negitive when someone says the housing market sucks. So it works both ways. The fact is Permits were up and you got to admit thats better than being DOWN!!! DOnt we all want the economy, stock market and jobs and housing market to get better??? YOu see you dont want it to get better, so your saying its not. Be honest, you want it to get worse because your looking to buy. RIght??Admit it, its ok, I get it!!!Hey if I was you I would feel the same way, but you need to be honest. just come out and say I want the damn housing market to crash!! We understand, we want you to get the dream home!!!!

I own two already; not saying I won't pick up a third, but that's not why I'm pessimistic about the economy. I don't care what people do with their own money, but the minute they start looking to me for a bail out, I'm going to make sure people know the facts about what it means to be responsible and also what a mess the NJ (and national) real estate market is in.

I'm not sitting down and listening to mindless NAR propaganda and others who want to cheerlead for the housing market and the rampant consumerism that brought this financial mess upon us in the first place.

I'm waiting for tallguylehigh and JG183's "I just sold my house" thread.

Show me the profound Glee on most of these threads? Cause I don't see it.

I am a buyer. Sure I would like house prices to drop or get back to a reasonable level. But I am not routing for people to lose their jobs and for people to go bankrupt and foreclose on their homes. I want things to get better. But I can hope for the economy to get back to normal and people spending within their means as well as wanting housing to continue to more reasonable bottom.

I know you dont want people to lose their jobs! Look I am praying since you seem to be sincere and are trying so hard to find a home that you love, I am truely praying for you!!! Your OK with me!!! I also think you will find something soon, and your smart, hey who does not want a bargain right. Then when you buy your home, you can be on the other side wanting it to skyrocket up in price!!!! (joke)

Naaa. Sick of the real estate market being so UP/DOWN. Would love for it to land at a reasonable bottom. Relax for a bit then go back to its typical historcially norms. Making me future purchase and possible sale realisitic and sane for both myself and future buyers/sellers...

This forcing people to the sidelines (market increasing too fast) or pushing people to the sidelines (market decreasing too fast) is not good for anyone. (sure people can benefit from it one way or another but overall just not good)

Lusitan,

You better just get used to the idea that we live under a collectivist mixed economy. Not capitalism. If you continue to beat yourself up everytime a new victim makes another claim on your income and property, you will be miserable until you hit the grave, which will happen sooner rather than later as a result of the stress.

Just get used to it, because you cannot change it. The country is moving to the left, towards collectivism, towards statism, and towards centralized control. You will be taxed more and more. You will pay for others around you more and more. You will keep less and less of what you earn. And there is simply NO WAY AROUND IT.

Our immigration policy over the past 50 years has resulted in constant admission of citizens and illegals from countries throughout the world that are more socialistic than we are. It is only natural that the voter pool has been diluted to the point where we would now elect a Barack Obama as our President.

This is only the beginning. And unlike the economy, this will NOT turn around. Our country, the one that used to be based on the ideals of freedom, individualism, and capitalism, is gone. And gone forever. There is simply NO ONE advocating for an alternative.

We are now facing a philosophical Chapter 7.

-Marc
