I have this unexplicable love/hate relationship with NJ. I hate the high taxes of NJ, the decaying cities, the materialisim in the suburbs, the ****ty weather, and the lack of nightlife and excitment. I love NJ's diversity and that I'm able to get authentic Italian, Chinese, Thai, or Indian food without even trying, I love all the memories I have at the Jersey shore, I love the humor and attitude of its people, and most of all I love it cause its my home.

Anyone else feel this way?

We all do! LOL

I am really big into NO PLACE is perfect. I'm sick of the taxes, the corruption, the hectic pace of life, the high cost of living, the polution, the overcrowding, etc....

BUT I love the (overall) low crime, the (overall) great schools, the (overall) open-mindedness. I love that I have the ocean and mountains in my state. That I can be in the ultimate City (NYC) within 30 min and I can be in the sticks if I go in another direction. I love the variations in race and ethnicity (the "D" word). I love the food. I love the people. I really do LOVE my state.

New Jersey has grown on me, after being in Brooklyn all my life, I wasn't sure of moving here. I like it, but I hate the real estate taxes and the corruption, those would be my main reasons for leaving, can't retire in a place like NJ.

I hate the high cost of living, but love that I'm pretty much close to everything.

LOVE: I've been living here most of my life...lotsa memories, most good...and at least it's better than the overcrowded dump that is NYC (nice to visit once in awhile, would hate living there)

HATE: I hate the f*cking weather...I love tropical or desert areas, both of which are sorely lacking in this place.

Overall, I'd rather be in California, Hawaii, Puerto Vallarta, or somesuch place with lots of sun, fun, and warmth.

I'll trade the weather, gladly! It's a hot, humid, balmy 81+ degrees right now

People fail to realize that. I remember the first time I visited NJ (was at the end of July '07), walking out of the airport (EWR), thinking "Good God, it's only about 10 degrees cooler here, and nearly as humid." Of course, it was cooler when I got to where I stay, but still completely hot. It came as a surprise since no one had informed me how hot/humid NJ got.
