I think that the age limit to get the driver's licence should be 18 in New Jersey, instead of 17 which it is now.
Yes, New Jersey has the highest age limit to get the licence, while most other states has 16, and few as low as 14.5 and 15!
It has been shown that NJ has the lowest teenager accident and kill than any other state because of higher age limit.

Many teenagers drive crazy today, don't fallow speed limits etc.
Especially around schools, they think they are cool if they don't stop on a stop sign and don't drive fast.
Most other countries in the world has age limit of 18, which is perfect age of getting their licence, and that's when they are adult!
Yes, teenagers older than 16 should start practise and get their permit etc., but not get the licence until 18 years old.
This rule should even be in the whole nation!

If you can join the army at 17 and be given the responsibility to kill for your country how can you not be given the responsibility to drive ?

So then we have inexperienced 18 year old drivers instead of 17 year old drivers?

For the love of God, people, this stuff is getting absolutely nuts. How long do we coddle human beings and prevent them from being adults? Not only should the licensing age remain at 17, but the drinking age should be lowered from 21 to 18, as it is in every other country in the world.

You know something now that we're talking about licenses. They need to lower down the age for unrestricted licenses to 21. To me, New Jersey driving from the DMV to the drivers, I don't want to say this but we do have a lot of people in our state that do NOT know how to drive, is screwed up.

I actually beg to differ. I see where you're coming from but I'm not comfortable with that yet. Especially when you have these kiddies who are 16, 17 driving crazy. There's a lot of people on the road grown in their 20s, 30s, 40s driving drunk already. I've ran into a couple of them. Was even in the car with one who was behind the wheel where I had to intervene.

You can't join the army at 17 without your parent's permission.

Agreed......but that doesn't change the fact that you can and be given the responsibility to kill.
