Are you looking for a more urban vibe or a more suburban vibe? Fort Lee has a much more urban vibe.

Overall, IMHO, Westwood is the better town. Better schools, a nice downtown, and while the traffic is crazy as it is in most Bergen County suburbs, it's nothing like Fort Lee's daily traffic madness. Fort Lee also has a lot of nice shops too, though.

If you want an NYC feel in NJ, however, Fort Lee is the way to go.

Cliffside and Hackensack come to mind. Fairview also but I don't think you would like Fairview.
