I just want a general opinion of the Magnolia Avenue in Jersey City, by the Journal Square. I will be viewing an apartment (117 is the building number)
If you type in the address on google it comes up with a bed bug infestation at that address. The area is OK, not the greatest but not terrible. I would go look at the place at night. Some areas of Journal Square are not the greatest at night.
Thanks LynnePatrice, I did do a google search and say the bed bug infestation, but that it was in 2008. The price is ridiculously low which leads me to wonder. I used to live on Highland near Journal Square and didn't have a problem walking around early in the mornings (like 3a or 4a), but of course that was years ago.
Magnolia is a nice street. Actually Magnolia and Highland are probably my two favorite streets in the JSQ area. I'm not sure which building 117 is, though. Is it one of the larger apt bldgs on the south side of the street? One of the houses on that particular block advertises furnished boarding rooms, which kinda skeeves me out. Otherwise there's not much to complain about there. Johnnie L's on Summit & Magnolia isn't a bad bagel shop.

Can anyone give me some feedback on the area?
Thanks
one of the nicer streets around JSQ. The blocks further out from the PATH are slightly nicer.
Ok, great. It is an area that I am not familiar with and I am little confused with the directions I was given. I will be taking the PATH. Once I exit the PATH station where do I go from there? I was told to walk towards Sip Ave, and walk down the block that has the Dunkin Donuts on the corner and I will come to Magnolia.
There's actually a short-cut through the station. Once you get off your train, you'll go up stairs, out the turnstiles, then there's more stairs, a mezzanine, and one final set of stairs to the surface. At the mezzanine level, walk behind the final set of stairs which continue up, and enter the "bus terminal" part of the JSQ station. Turn right and walk down the corridor. There will be a door leading outside. Walk out and you'll be dumped onto the end of Magnolia Ave. Cross Summit Ave and you'll be on the block you need.
The way you posted works, but it's a longer walk, around the entire PATH complex rather than through it.
