Hello Everyone, can anyone tell me the good, the bad and the ugly about Maywood, NJ? Moving pretty soon to the neighborhood and would like some input...any special family events going on for the summer?

They have an annual street fair, a very nice one, every year on Mt Pleasant avenue. Been to a few and had a good time. I'd say Maywood has more class versus nearby towns like EP, SB, RP, etc. The best area of the town in my opinion is the area north of Mt Pleasant and east of Rt.17.
Congestion (maybe vehicle noise) along the main roads would be concerns.

The entire town is only about 1 or 2 square miles so you should have an easy time driving around and checking everything out. I have been there a lot because my friend's family lives there. The town seems nice, but essentially just blends in with Paramus. Also, the Maywood kids attend Hackensack high school which may be a turn-off to some parents.

hi if you live in maywood nj, my understanding is it has its own elementary and junior high which are top notch, but for high school your only option for public is hackensack high school? which has a 3 in the greatschool rating. Is this accurate?

Also can someone give me a google map location i can search that has the most "downtown" / restaurants in/near maywood?

Thank you

If the OP is interested in...trivia...or in cocaine...he/she might be interested in knowing that this town is the location of the only legal cocaine processing facility in The US.
