I am considering purchasing a house that has an outdoor above ground oil tank. From what I have read about them online they seem like a headache. This house has a 275 gallon tank with is not enclosed. It is located along side of the house. I would like to hear from those that have one or from those of you that have experiance with one. Would you consider this a deal breaker? Or not a big deal?

Not a Deal breaker as long as they don't have one underground besides that one. Some Homeowners in NJ think its just fine and dandy to put an above one in, and leave the underground one intact, and then not tell the buyer that.

We replaced our underground tank with an above ground "Roth" brand tank about three years ago and have had absolutely no problems.

One of my better decisions, imo.

I replaced the underground one with a Roth also, which looks like a shed. I did it after removing the underground one.
