October 1996 Update :
Running to Win : The Key Races
New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races: Arkansas: The Little Rock New Party has a full slate of candidates up for election in November. LRNP steering committee member Michael Booker is running unopposed for re-election to the Arkansas State House. Two NP members - Paul Kelly and Genevieve Stewart - are running for at-large (city-wide) city council positions. And in a head-to-head battle between the New Party and the conservative right, NP member Jayne Cia faces the Arkansas state chair of Empower America (Jack Kemp and Bill Bennett's organization) for a Justice of the Peace (county board) position. Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)....

Membership Growth
September was the New Party's all-time high month for membership recruitment - more than 1000 new members joined! Welcome aboard. As always, onward and upward...
This is just a smattering of info, from which you can decide for yourself
Under "Further Reading," if you click on the link to "Democratic socialist and social democratic parties and organizations in the United States," it will give you an index of such parties. Under "N" in the index, you'll find the New Party. Their old Web site was scrubbed during the election. However, some of their older pages have been archived by various sites.
LOL, it's totally fine for you to draw these far-fetched conclusions that Obama is a socialist (witout facts to back it up), but drawing conclusions from this chart with hard-core factual statistics is "jumping to conclusions"?
What a joke.
its kind of funny that you think this is such an awesome chart that proves so much. you probably wet your pants when you saw it. the problem is that you dont understand what it is saying. so you are drawing conclusions from it that dont make sense.
I suppose it depends what kind of career you want to pursue. I have no illusions that a NY metro lifestyle or career is available there, but that's part of the trade off.

Not really... most ND jobs are strictly blue collar, no real career path... do cops and teachers really have careers? Someone on an oil rig in the middle of nowhere? A farmer?
ND is a quiet place to do your time until you die, that's about it. You can't really "live" life in ND. There is nothing to experience, VERY little diversity. Racial, geographical, political, religious... it's a lot of sameness there and that's the way they like it.
In its extreme, I agree.................. But lets not put such a "catch phrase" out there in order to push personal agendas without putting the word in perspective.
Shared public services are socialist. Social Security is socialist. MediCare (SP*) is socialist. The public school system in the good ol' U.S. is socialist. They seem to be working reasonably well ( I said reasonably).
The point being that any & every political ideology unchecked & unregulated is bad.
Pure Capitalism is just as bad if left unregulated.
Moderation is the key to life.
All I know is that I've lived in NJ all my life and can't wait to move 1000 miles away!!!! I hate this state, and everything about it.
What this has to do with the topic at hand?? You got me.........................
You have troll written all over you. Less than 50 posts & he will be gone with the wind.
