I am a black male new to the South Jersey area, (Tuckerton, NJ to be exact --- it's between Toms River and Atlantic City) can someone tell me if they know of any African-American barbershops in the area. If you have an address or phone number then please share. I've been searching online but have been coming up empty. In advance thanks for your help!
I don't know any but I would bet any barbershop not in a casino in AC would specialize in African-American hair, as would most in Pleasantville. Go to maps dot google dot com and put in Atlantic City or Pleasantville, NJ, then click "search nearby" and put barbershops. A lot of places come up for both, you can call and see what kind of hair they specialize in.
yeah, and I don't know of any AA barbershops there.
For a black man, going 40-50 to even 100 miles to get your hair cut is not rare. I know someone who lived in Iowa City who used to drive to Chicago monthly to get a cut.
I live in Mercer County and am still looking for a barber who cuts the way I want.
Thanks for all the replies. I would love if there was a AA barbershop in Tuckerton, Little Egg Harbor, or Manahawkin since these are my surrounding areas, but traveling to Atlantic City, Toms River, or Asbury Park is not a problem if I can't find any in my area. I won't travel over 30 miles, so Camden and Williamstown are too far. If I travel that far then I will just go to Newark where I'm from and know all the shops there.
Please keep the replies coming if anyone know of more barbershops in these S. Jerz areas...
I am an AA female who has been looking for good hair salons and as of late a good barber. I have not been able to find any that are not far away. I would like to have one in my area Toms River, Lakewood, Brick, South Toms River etc. If anyone knows of any please let me know as well. lol
