Thanks, my wife gets the credit for any pics i post worth looking at

As far as distance goes, we made a day trip out of it so tough to say. We drove from ABQ to Edgewood to eat at http://www.eastmountaingrill.com/and then made our way to mountainair, and finally to the ruins. We were going to check out the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array but was getting late and we headed home. Probably hit that in a week or two. All together, a very cool drive.

According to goo-gull it looks to be about 70miles each way

Poncho - I remember finding a horned lizard in my backyard in Willcox, AZ. I would study it, it would just sit there. One day I was walking into work at the hospital there and found a tiny little green lizard. I picked it up, it was a baby horned lizard. I had great fun putting it on the edge of the lab tech.'s desk and trying to freak the nurses out with it. I was met with a "dull" reception, finally had to remove it from the building.

I got a kick out of it, though. No lizard shortages at all in the desert SW!

Default San Antonio, NM - 30June2013

I was headed back to Nevada from Tularosa when I crossed the river. I pulled over and shot a dozen or so. Later on I took another dozen of Omega, NM. Awesome day for fast moving clouds, it was trying like hell to let lose....

Default Omega, NM - 30June2013

I promised I'd stop and snap some photos when I passed through Omega for Tulie the previous week. I stayed in Quemado, NM then and would do the same this time too, so I had plenty of time to poke around. Days like this seem to have spurious mini-magic-hours what with the light constantly in flux. My wife said she would have to "look that up" when I poked in my intent to grab a room "near Omega NM"...
