Makes sense, and bet you'll enjoy being "home" in Colorado. Beautiful there.........I don't think I would like being too isolated either. Love to read and paint, but need to move around and see whats going on in the world........
I ate at Pepper's once and ill have to say its a good place to eat.I have family in Alamogordo. Alamogordo seems like a good place to me from my travels.I'm from Midland, Texas

Okay ive never been there we eat at BullBoxer31 and Jorge's.I think IHOP has good food. How long have u been living in the Land of Enchantment,Cathy?
Well, you will have to try Tampico's. It was always our favorite, and has been there since the 1950s, with one change in ownership over that time, in the 1970s. They (IMHO) have the best salsa (good, fresh and HOT) and chips, along with great rellenos, battered or not! The menu is not extensive, but I've never had a bad meal there, ever.
My dad took me there when we were kids the rare times we went to Midland with him.
If I ever set foot in Midland again, that is the first place I'm heading to eat.
Rosa's is great for fast food. I often stopped at the driveup to get a takeout of crispy beef tacos. Their salsas are wonderful, too. I never really cared for Jorge's.
We are getting a new IHOP here in Alamo, but I've never eaten there, so it will be something new to me.
I guess I miss Tampico's and Rosa's so much because the restaurants here (with a very few exceptions) are just across-the-board bland and lousy. I miss good food out, and I get very tired of cooking so much.
Okay, where did you live before Alamogordo?Do you miss living in Texas?
I lived in Midland for 30 years, and moved directly here from there in 2007.
I miss a lot of things about Texas, yes. Midland has a lot to offer, or I wouldn't have stayed there that long. I grew up in a small town south of Midland.
But I want my mountains, so the only places in Texas that have mountains are El Paso and Fort Davis/Alpine/Marfa.
We have our house on the market too. Maybe going to Colorado or Albq. area.
The market sucks now but we went ahead and put ours on anyway. You never know when the right person will pop up.
Same here in Oklahoma. I do have a contract on my house, but the buyers have to sell their house by the end of the month. That's about up already! I think I'm going to take my house off the market when my contract with the realtor expires in Feb. But then, I think of Timberon & my Land of Enchantment...And keep hoping and wishing.
I love the mountains too. What small town? What are the winters like in Alamogordo?
