It's 4.30 a.m. and its raining very hard outside so not sure if i'll leave to go pump iron at the gym ar 5.00 a.m. as i normally do. No snow here at least. Thats the report so far ....lol....
6 foot 3, where are you? It's after 7 a.m. Saturday here in the Sactos, and we're getting hammered with rain. My gauge says 2" and counting since l went to bed last night. The rain is falling in sheets, blowing against windows as if someone is spraying them with a hose. If only it were a few degrees colder, this would be a couple feet of snow!
Well Harry, while you are getting lots of rain and mid-50s temps, I - stuck here in the Milwaukee, WI by my relocation - am bracing for 4 or 5 inches of snow, massive freezing rain (ice) and sleet...what a fun day. Temps for highs not much past the 20s and 30s the next ten days, while I look at Albuquerque, and highs are in the upper 50s and lower 60s for the next ten days.
Enjoy EP, enjoy the midwest.. thats why I am down here..LOL My DH is about 3 hrs from you helping kids with tile work, he is staying in today.
Alamogordo just had rain this AM, glad it stopped before 8 as I was out ringing bells for Salvation Army.. Not much fun in the snow and cold, been there, done that..

Glad to see you post again EnjoyEP as it's been a while since we heard from you. You wrere always the most positive and i believe requested poster on here from out of staters for info and advice about moving to NM.
I saw pictures this morning of the snow coming down hard in Minneapolis on CNN so i imagine it's coming down in Wisconsin too. We need it here but just in the mountains as thats good for the ski resorts and water shed but it dries within a day on the ground here as its dry and 60 degrees outside.
Hope all is well in Wisconsin and maybe somewhere in the future you and your family will make it back if thats in the cards. By the way seen any Packers games....as i'm envious of not having pro football in town...lol...
You could always be here in Willow Alaska where at 6pm its already -9. Thats 9 below zero F with a barely white ground of icy grunchy, well not snow just something that looks white. All our trails are solid ice. Not even maybe 8 to 10 miles south all there snow melted a couple of weeks ago.
I get a kick out of you's wanting snow and cold weather. I'll trade your weather for mine. At least down there I could still be riding my motorcycle instead of freezing in a car that the heater still thinks its in AZ. Oh yea thats why I'm leaving Alaska, hahha.
There is a flip side to that. It's called fires. While I'm not into winter sports, and frankly do not like cold weather, people in N.M. do welcome it. I live in Colorado and in 2002 there were fires everywhere in the state all summer! The Hayman fire, 40 miles southwest of Denver, burned over 108,000 acres and God knows how many homes. One fire in New Mexico was near a DOE facility in Los Alamos and took out a number of homes in that area. We are in a drought cycle in the West. We need moisture.
