Hello to everyone.
Im a longtime user with many posts on the El Paso/ Wallacetown threads.
But sold my land out by Cornudas and just bought a really nice parcel in Timberon.
As the wife says, we live in the desert, why do we want to camp there? lol
So we bought from a private party a nicely wooded 1+ acre lot with water and septic already done. Just need to get the power brought in next spring (doesnt need to go to far either).
Will put our trailer on it and then begin the process of getiing a permit to build a small but comfortable cabin up there.
Was up there Saturday - simply beautiful waether - not quite as hot as El PAso!
So hi to everyone!

Welcome to Timberon!
Yes, the weather is beautiful this time of year, breezy and mild. Just starting to get cold at night.
We did the same thing. Bought a parcel and built a home on it. That was 7 years ago. Best decision we ever made
Here is the Timberon facebook group if you'd like to join, it's a public group. Lots of local stuff gets posted there, it's fairly active.

There are some neat people in Timberon--and it has a wonderful climate.

Enjoy!

Yes beautiful weather and lots of nice trees. And while I grew up in EP I spent the last 40+ years in New England.
And my wife is from upstate New York. So we really miss camping in the woods!
Our new lot is on Norwood just off Pioneer.
Hope to see you all soon!

Default Steve!

Hey Steve, I bought the Dell City land near yours back in the day.If you still stop by here, let me know who you went through to sell your land. I'm ready to sell my 20 acres now.

That's a tight-knit community up there. As you plan your build, think fire-defensible, as in metal roof, Hardy plank siding and minimal trees/shrubs close to the house. Have a great adventure!
