General construction depends on the state of the housing marker and work in Los Alamos probably depends on government project funding. I tried to get a job there and the project was canceled before they could pay for my move. Too bad, as I really wanted to move to NM. That was 30 yeqrs ago.

Default School construction

One thing that 6-3 [I think] pointed out on an earlier thread, was that with the 106 million $$$ extra that APS has, there will be a lot of construction jobs available across Albuquerque. There are numerous new school facilities or school renovation projects planned city-wide.

Actually i believe it's about a billion dollars that APS is/will be spending on these schools over the next several years. 2 major bond issues passed by albuquerque voters in the last 2 bond cycles and with Richardson kicking in about 200 million for the new high schools and other projects with these new 106 million so there will be alot of commercial school construction going on.

Sad to hear about all the layoffs at NMDOT do to the 500 million shortfall as road construction workers have been laid off.
