No, I have never air dried a car and I don't have a spotting problem. I use microfiber towels to dry them in the garage quickly after washing, otherwise I would have a spotting problem. Our low humidity, sun and wind will dry your car for you if you're slow. I do know someone who uses a leaf blower to blow dry his collector cars and it actually works out well. It heps that the finish is like glass.

Ha! A leaf blower, eh? That's actually a pretty clever idea. May try that one some day. I also use a microfiber tower to wipe down my 2011 Kia Soul while I'm washing it. Using a dry microfiber towel works well to finish off drying your car.

OK, you'd said you pulled them into the garage wet to dry them. Hence my question.

I think that air drying may be a part of the original problem. I don't have hard water here and if I air dry I'll get spotting.

Don't air dry. Wipe with a microfiber towel.
