Maybe you need new glasses. That's last years list and Juarez was 20th, and rates were on the rise. Homicides are WAY up this year over last year. WAY up.

Me included. Didn't mean to downplay it, but if it is necessary, a person should know that if you're careful there's a pretty minimal chance of getting killed.

There were 987 homicides in Juarez through September of 2018, compared to 814 all of last year. If that trend holds through the year it will be 1233, a 50% increase over 2017. This would actually place Juarez 6th (not first; my bad) in homicide per capita at 85 per 100,000, using last years list as a guide.



It will end up being less because there was a recent truce between cartels and the rate dropped the last couple months.
