It suffered terribly from the virus on tribal lands, but the county seems to have a lot to offer in terms of outdoor recreation and real estate inventory. I see that Farmington is a three-hour drive from the ABQ Sunport, just as Alamogordo is.
What do folks know about the winters up there? Guessing they are not quite as cold as Santa Fe, Angelfire, Taos, etc., but I may be wrong.

Weather in San Juan County, New Mexico

The most pleasant months of the year for San Juan County are May, September and June. In San Juan County, there are 2 comfortable months with high temperatures in the range of 70-85°. July is the hottest month for San Juan County with an average high temperature of 91.2°, which ranks it as about average compared to other places in New Mexico. January is the snowiest month in San Juan County with 3.3 inches of snow, and 5 months of the year have significant snowfall. Days with noticeable humidity are rare throughout the year.
