Hahaha this may sound rude but so true, the mexicans taking over are welfare offices and asking for food stamps and assistance.. supprisingly! they get them instead of locals who are in need of assistance and the welfare office excuse is "you make too much" hahah

thats not right

I get the same thing when I say where I grew up - New England or Vermont.... most people think that they are totally different countries, and not part of the US (sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but we do claim them).

Gee-whiz, maybe you all should recommend to these folks "Geography for dummies" by Charles Heatwole. I looked it up online & it says, in other words, that in a fast & simple way they're going to learn that New Mexico is actually in the US, and they'll learn about other neat stuff, too.

Wouldn't it be better to just keep New Mexico our little secret? So what if nobody knows where it is or that it's in the US. Maybe that attitude will help keep New Mexico unspoiled.

I agree, Lovehound! I found out about NM from a cousin who lived in ABQ for years!

I'm afraid at least when it comes to Las Cruces, the genie is way out of the bottle. This place scarcely resembles the town I moved to 3 years ago. 6/3, one the best posters here, regularly posts a nugget of info from the Las Cruces Sun News reporting on new construction.

I was trying to be amusing. There's no keeping a whole state a secret, except from 'tards. Anybody too stupid to figure out where New Mexico is or thinks it's a foreign country will be doing New Mexico a great service by not moving there. Think of it as an intelligence test. If you don't know where New Mexico is, you can't go there, right?

...you can watch someone drizzle chile on anything edible, at any hour of the day and it doesn't phase you in the least.
