You Know You're in New Mexico When...-nm-license.jpt.jpg

Here's the other style. Both go just fine with my strange little orange toaster car.

I knew I had been to New Mexico when I came back to Seattle with a bunch of chapstick and saline nasal spray.

I don't go anyplace in the car without a bottle of water and a tube of Carmex!

There is a joke about why NM licenses are yellow. It's so the rest can recognize a crazy driver from behind.

You know when you are in NM when you see the "caution-yellow" license plates on all those crazy drivers....

Default Inspired by working in the yard.

You know you are in New Mexico when

the weeds regard RoundUp as a gentle rain and a propane burner as just another hot day.

Default You know you are in Northern NM...

...when of the four cars at the light, you are the only one NOT drinking a beer and listening to hip-hop.

Ahh, the joy of the road trip!

I never thought of NM as the land of hip-hop. Are you sure you've got that right?

Yes, he had it right. I have noticed that too. Of any four cars around me, two will be blaring salsa music and two will have hip hop going full blast.

...yes, but it's hip hop en español (and that's how you can tell you're in New Mexico!).

Northern NM (Espanola). Hip-hop, rap, or whatever it is called. It is alive and well.
