There seems to be an on-going argument in this forum regarding crime in New Mexico.

I recently found a web site that provides graphics of where crimes occur. If you go to the web site below and type in the name of your town or city+NM in the "Crime Location" window, you can see what kind of crime statistics you have.

My question is, how accurate is this web site?

I found it to be a little confusing. The map for Clovis, NM came right up, but all the crimes listed below the map occurred at locations that had nothing to do with Clovis.

Then I noticed the small print above that said:
Quote:
Crime reports from the following Bay Area police departments are mapped: Burlingame, Contra Costa County Sheriff, Danville, El Cerrito, Fremont, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Gatos/Monte Sereno, Novato, Oakland, Oakley, Orinda, Palo Alto, Pinole, San Francisco, San Jose, San Jose State University, San Ramon, Santa Clara, Santa Clara County Sheriff and Sunnyvale.
So, there is no info for Clovis. Anyone else having any luck with info for their NM location? Is this just meant for California towns?

Albuquerque is represented. These guys (at the website) aren't actively gathering this information. Various departments have to voluntarily send the info to them. My guess is the Clovis and Cloudcroft PD's aren't doing that. Or you guys are completely crime free (Visualize that!).

ziaArmac, you're right. Maybe the folks from Clovis and Cloudcroft could encourage their PD's to input the information.

Since Lindrith isn't mentioned (big surprise there) on that site, I found this one
Moderator cut: linking to competitors sites is not allowed . Though some of the statistics seem kind of whacked. Such as listing 65% of registered voters as democratic, I find that rather hard to believe, but maybe some of these people that "seem" so conservative aren't republicans (there are quite a lot of viva bush stickers around though). I was surprised to see our violent crime level as 3 on a scale of 1-10 (10 highest). I would have guessed a 1 or 2, but maybe since there are only about 500 people here it ups the rate even if there are only a handful of incidents or less.

The biggest crime I see on a daily basis is these women I see walking around in high spiky heels and spandex with their layers of fat hanging out over their waistline.
