American International Rattlesnake Museum - Albuquerque, New Mexico


I had a chance to take the family to visit the rattlesnake museum in Albuquerque this past weekend. Lots of great info on snakes as well as specimens.
It's in old town. There was live music on the plaza as well as some cowboy reenactment skits. We mingled around a bit.


My favorite was the Banded Rock rattlesnake:

I really wanted to see that museum when we lived there. The one time we did go it was closed...

Very cool! Never been there myself, but will make a point to stop there on my next trip to AZ. Ive been to a few snake museums, none of them were impressive, but rather run down, kinda sad. There is a venomous snake rescue center here in Lake Forest, IL that Rob Carmichael runs, its incredible. Thats where I go when I need a quick venomous snake fix. lol

Thanks for the pics of the rattler, he/she is a beauty!
