I agree. It was just a knee jerk reaction to the lack of cooperation and departmentalization of a bloated federal bureaucracy foisted on us by an administration that was acting out of fear. Instead of making us safer it has created an even bigger bureaucracy whose sole apparent goal is to make air travel unpleasant.
But when there is a potential disaster, the cost to the taxpayer of a few million in inoculations seems far cheaper than the loss in life and billions in productivity that could be caused by a major pandemic. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing (at this time) which "bug" is going to mutate and become the next big killer and which is going to flare up and die off.
And given a choice, I would rather over react to a disease than ignore it and be blind sided by a nasty one.
Regarding terrorism, I still think cruise based warheads taking out any government that supports terrorism is an appropriate response......and so long as they don't export their violence, we should leave the other countries strictly alone.
