The twice annual Portales Wine Festival is a must see event for Cannon folks and other newcomers to "out there" who need a little liquid culture and live music. Every year it gets bigger and bigger and draws party hungry wine drinkers out for a good cause.
This year the Portales Main Street Wine Fest is on Saturday May 16 from 7 PM- 10 PM at 311 Main Street in historic downtown Portales. It is to be held inside a funky old storefront known as "Bishop's Printing". Don't be scared by the spooky facade. These folks throw a great party for a good cause every year to raise money for Main Street preservation.
Tickets are $25 and include live music, wine samplers, and Turarosa Vinyard's "Cork Dork" Chris Taylor who will speak on the topic of - what else - WINES! You can get tix at 575-356-5641 or 356-6662.
