Hi all! I just accepted a job down in Clovis and had a few questions. Are there any 1 bedroom apartments available down there? If so, what are the better parts of town / places I should be looking at? Anything I should know in particular?
I pretty much grew up in Reno, NV (I'll be 25 in August) and I know this will be a big change. But I figured there's a Walmart, a Dillards, and internet so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. I'm just going to have to get used to no nightlife/bars (unless someone knows of a decent bar/pub nearby).
Also, any good camping/fishing spots around there? I don't mind traveling a little to get to a good spot. And what else is there to do in town?
Clovis indeed does have good camping and fishing spots. as for a nightlife, there isn't to much, after all, it is just a small city. I would actually recommend driving to Albuquerque or some nearby Texan cities for activities. Good luck!

The best/safest part of town is in the northeast. Stay away from the southwest part of town. Try to stay north of 21st street. Rents are outrageously high for what you get. Most housing stock is very, very old and not well maintained let alone updated. Do not assume an apt/house comes with regular A/C. A lot of housing have rusted out swamp coolers that are not that effective when it gets really hot.
If you have a dog or a cat, DO NOT bring it with you because landlords DO NOT accept pets. No ifs, ands or buts: NO PETS.
