Every month ( or so ? ) the Albuquerque Journal puts an insert
into the paper called New Mexico Wildlife. I like it even though
it mostly just has hunting and fishing stuff. There is a web site
here: NMDGF

This issue this week, had an article on a new state park:
Cerrillos Hills State Park. CHHP Home Page

Here are some other pictures from flickr (http://www.flickr.com/search/groups/?m=pool&w=51035763335@N01&q=cerrillos+hills - broken link)

If you don't know what the Cerrillos Hills are, they are that group
of 'pointy' hills (*) that you see off to the East when you finally
get up the grade on La Bajada Hill on I-25.

The site for New Mexico Wildlife has copies of their issues posted such
as Summer 2009,
http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/publ...summer2009.pdf
but I was unable to locate ...
http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/publ...spring2010.pdf <=== not a valid link
... which is the issue I got in the paper.\

Hopefully, they will soon post this issue, since the article and pictures
are really inviting. This looks to be a quick and easy place to get to
from both Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

Here is an article from the Santa Fe New Mexican

We were out in the area last year the town of Cerrillos and Madrid. Did not have time to go into the State Park.

Poncho, add Clayton Lake State Park to your list. Not only is a pretty little lake setting, but there is a plethora of dinosaur tracks to see.
