Actually I have been to AZ many many times and its quite a nice state as well. Plus there are many jobs that the illegals will do that you probably won't.

Richardson officially lost any shred of support I may have had for him tonight. Governor Brewer is an excellent governor, and I hope that Arizona hangs onto her in November.

I'm personally very surprised that Governor Bobby Jindal of Lousy-ana is on the list. I mean, all I hear is about how well Louisiana is doing under his administration! Like, how is this decided? Surely not by public opinion, because in 2008, Gov. Jindal had an approval rating of 77%.

You do not have to, nor should you believe, everything you read before you figure out the bias of the writer/pollster. Most have their own axes to grind and people to smear.

7 years. Doubled the size of the NM government. I'm sure now.
Yep. He's also very pro Mexican illegal alien. That is no surprise, since his mother is/was a Mexican national who married a US citizen. He has asked the AZ governor to not sign the new immigration legislation. He also sees nothing wrong with allowing illegals to obtain a driver's license.

Figures.

I'll bet he sees something wrong with requiring everyone to carry proof of citizenship. What do we really want? Do we want to have every cop given the right to stop you for no reason and ask, "Papers, please." You may be willing to do this to "protect you from the illegal alien" but I certainly do not. I can damn well protect myself against the illegal’s but not against the cops.

I don't like the idea that any police officer could stop me on a whim just to see my papers. It wouldn't likely happen because I'm not brown. The AZ governor has stated that 'racial profiling' will not be tolerated, but I don't see how it can be avoided if the idea is to catch illegals from the south. I imagine the Feds will shut this down in short order.

On the other hand, requiring proof of residency for drivers' licenses, etc makes perfect sense. That would make illegal entry much less appealing, as would revoking the stupid law that makes any child born on this side of the border an American citizen.

Well, every time a cop stops me, he asks for I.D. so that is nothing new. We already have the common infraction D.W.B. 'Driving While Black'.

Overall, Gov. Richardson's 'crimes' seem rather innocuous compared to some of the others. Not defending him, just saying.

Some of them it is pretty easy to agree with - Gov. Sanford, for example. By any/all objective standards, he really takes the cake.

In any event, I personally don't think Gov. Richardson has done a terrible job. NM is in pretty good shape compared to some other states, budget-wise. And I love that lots of movies are being made here and that the Spaceport is being built here. Just my $.02.
