I am getting married in New Orleans next fall and am looking for a good band for the reception. I know there are a lot of bands in the area but so far looking online I haven't found many that can fit my budget of $2,000. I'm not too picky, just want a fun band that can do covers and that people can dance to. I also wouldn't mind some brass. Any ideas of the best way to find this?

To save some coin and offer a New Orleans experience, I would hire a DJ, then hire a Brass Band to close out the reception with a Second Line.

This may or may not apply to you but I am black and originally from New Orleans. All of the weddings that I have gone to in New Orleans did this. (including white couples)

There are plenty of Brass/Second Line bands that you can hire to play a 5 or so song set to close out your reception for ~$500 or less.
