I think New Orleans is the only city in the south could happen in. Do you think this will happen?

Not with it being in the State of Louisiana... but if the state ever let municipalities decide, I'd be willing to bet NOLA would vote for it.

A little-known fact is that Louisiana was actually the first state to legalize weed, in the late 1970s- HOWEVER, part of this plan was that the weed would be coming from the government pot farm at Ole Miss (or is it Miss St.). When the government refused to allow Louisiana merchants to buy from their farm, the plan went kaput, although, at least in a technical sense, weed is still "legal" in Louisiana. There was an issue about two years ago when the City Council passed an ordinance and they had to specify that marijuana use as permitted by the state was not subject to the ordinance. So it's technically legal- except it isn't.

The federal government needs to hop on board. It's a failed multi-billion dollar war that will never end. There's no way this state legalizes use for even "medicinal" purposes.

NOPD wouldn't support it. They're so corrupt that some of them are on the take with dealers.

Because people die from it's use every day and the country could dramatically reduce the conflict along our southern border along with bringing in a new cash crop for the economy. Yeah, stupid decision.

NOPD has cleaned up, still not squeaky clean but better. NOPD wouldn't have a say in it either way.

Oh yeah, why? Because you want to tell people how they should live their lives?

that's usually pretty much what it comes down to. I know in my case, I haven't smoked in at least 3 years. But having gained that distance from the scene, I think it should be legal now more than ever.

+1
It would make it harder for kids to have access, just like alcohol and cigarettes. In highschool, it was much easier for me to get weed than a pack of Kools or a fifth of Taaka.
