I am moving to New Orleans from Mass this month and one of the places I may settle on is located on a side St (dublin) right off of Oak st. Its about a block south of Oak St and it seems to be a decent area from what I can gather online, but Id just like to hear some input from you lovely folks!

That is a really nice area. Lots of shade, short walk to the bars/shops/restaurants on Oak and Maple streets and everything else in the riverbend area, easy access to the St. Charles streetcar to get you downtown as well as other parts of uptown.

It does start to get sketchy on the north(lake) side of Oak St. and a few blocks further west(upriver) from Carrollton Ave, but there's really no reason to venture back there anyway. Everything you want to walk to is on Carrollton, Oak or Maple.
