Grew Up in Bossier and relocating to NOLA (New Orleans, River Ridge: bars, food)

Hey y'all,

I'm relocating to New Orleans after being out of the South for three years (DC). I found a place in River Ridge that seems pretty nice (guess I'll find out on the 24th!), and things are going smoothly for my thousand mile trip back home.

Money shouldn't be an issue, so I want to enjoy as much of the city as possible. I've been to NO about 6 times; however, it was mainly concerts and Bourbon Street. I'm a bit more tame now, so there will be much less all night partying.

I'm trying to get a list of things that I need to do in my discretionary time! I'll be doing quite a bit of networking for work, so I'm sure I'll have my bar exposure there.

Beyond that, I know that I am going to hit all the museums, but outside of the obvious attractions and the stunning graveyards, (ha, I sound like such a goth nerd) I'm kind of at a loss. I don't know if they have any historic tours of the seedy underbelly of New Orleans, but that'd be cool.

To be honest, I'd be interested in hearing any suggestions regarding any New Orleans/Deep South mysticism, unique/themed bars (I really enjoyed Cure recently), awesome tours or historic walkthroughs, awesome swamp airboat adventures, vistas that I need to see, or anything that is irrefutably a part of LA/NO. Also love Cajun food and seafood of all types! Haaallllpppppp!
