Hi folks,

I'm a 30-something single woman looking at possibly buying a house in the Treme. I currently live in the Lower Garden District. I'm hoping people can provide honest feedback about the block I'm looking at: N. Villere St. between Esplanade and Governor Nicholls.

I've lived in NOLA for a while so I'm aware of the basic reputation of the different neighborhoods, but since it's block-by-block around here I'm hoping someone familiar with the Treme can help me out.

I'm wondering about safety, sense of community, general vibe, etc.

Thanks.

On Trulia's crime map Villere to Robertson is solid red, the worst crime rating. The other side is dark orange, one level up from red. On streetview it looks like a nice street, well kept homes.

I think it's up to you.
