Hey all,

I got 3 days in New Orleans. What do I do, see?
Where do I eat? Oh, and what do I eat?
No clubs for me; just touristy stuff.
thanks.

Looks like I noticed this too late. Is your trip over by now?

I would've said Aquarium of the Americas, walking around the French Quarter (it's cliche but if you've never seen the city it's worth taking a stroll, but I'd skip Bourbon St. if you don't really care for bars and clubs). If you're into entomology at all, there's the Audubon Insectarium, but it's not all that impressive if you've ever been to an insectarium in general. People tend to get excited about the butterfly garden there, though.

Audubon Park (also where the zoo is located) uptown is a beautiful place to walk around.

My favorite place to eat in NOLA is Mona's, a Greek and Lebanese restaurant in a few locations. There's one on Frenchmen (in the Marigny, by the Quarter) and another on Magazine St. (where there's lots of shopping if that's your thing). Someone else might recommend a more traditional New Orleans restaurant than Mona's, though.

If the trip's over, how was it? And what did you wind up doing?

Take the carriage tour that is on the south side of Jackson Square.

Even though they are in clubs on Bourbon, stop by Krazy Korner (straight north from Jackson Square on St. Peter) and see The Daywalkers. They play classic Cajun music with some originals thrown in. West a few blocks from there is Fat Cats and Danny T and the Nutria Rats play some afternoons.

Daywalkers. The guitar player isn't with the band anymore but he has a classic country show at the Kerry Irish Pub on Decatur on Tuesday nights.

Daywalkers. The fiddle player replaced the guitar player and he is gone as well. The last time I saw them they had Waylon Thibodeaux filling in. Yes, you can YouTube him as well.
