I was just wondering is New Orleans more upscale nightclubs/nightlife has picked back up since Katrina? Is the area and the culture back on its feet yet? I'm considering the city as a possibility for a move and am concerned about its present condition culturly and nightlife wise-

Its fine.

I dont know what you are looking for, jazz in the Marigny pumps out almost everynight of the week, the bars in the Warehouse District are as trendy as ever, electronica DJs spin most nights at Ampersand, indie rock at One Eyed Jacks and the Republic. St. Joe's and Monkey Hill are as trendy as ever for the Uptown crowd as is the Columns.

Great, I had heard possibly to leave it alone for a while, that it was still under construction. I've never been there, but my dad goes all the time before and after Katrina and he is a cowboy type....so I am sure he has not bothered to see upscale, hehe..........But, he says I would not like it, that it is not classy (?)....I love the culture it offers, but wondering if it can offer progression and lots of fun people to look at and have fun with!?

I think its a little cliquey here. That's my only complaint, but with CBD events such as Wednesday at the Square hopefully opportunities to meet friend will present themselves.
