Well Iam in between both cities, and iam moving to new orleans, houston is ok has good schools and all that, but my god its like a big cement city with some malls, New Orleans you feel like your living in a movie all the time, and as far as the crime, i dont deal drugs so i havent had a problem with either city..

Boring? Hardly. Not only does Houston have less crime, it also has MUCH more ethnic diversity. NOLA is basically almost all black and white.

Yeah, Houston has its problems, but I'd take Houston over NOLA anyday.

And let's not forget about the poverty rate in NOLA, which hovers at 30%.

I know some may think that I'm crazy but after being in the Woodlands area for 8 years I'd move back to NOLA in a heartbeat! Don't get me wrong it is very nice and new here, but I miss true southern charm and NOLA culture. Many of my friends here see NOLA as "dirty" but I'll take it... dirt and all

Houston is like the Westbank. Way too much suburbs. One thing it has going for it is that awesome Galleria mall. Other than that its pretty much boring.
New Orleans is definitely a livelier, more interesting city, but not nearly as well designed or kept up.

I'm currently in spring texas. I'm actually moving back to new orleans, well slidell because louisiana caters better to single moms as far as child care assistance. I had to quit my job here because I couldnt afford child care..but other than that I would have stayed.its beautiful and so many things to do as well as a great school system.nice place to raise kids. So, once I finish school out there in slidell (i only have a year left) I will move right back here to spring texas or maybe the woodlands...
