Hi,
I am planning to move to neworleans and looking for apartment in safe neighborhood ( close to shopping and restaurants). I heard about riverridge, kenner and metaire. I would like to know which of these 3 places is best. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm new here too, so take this for what it's worth. Kenner and Metairie seem busier to me, probably because that's where most of the shopping and restaurants are out of the three places you mentioned. River Ridge has some ok shopping (Best Buy, Home Depot, strip mall type place) and some decent restaurants, but it seems more quiet in my opinion. We recently moved to River Ridge and the reason we chose here is that it is close enough to the amenities that Kenner, Metairie, and New Orleans city has to offer, but still somewhat quiet and out of the way. It's a short, easy drive to anywhere you want to go (less than 30 minutes to most places around town, barring terrible traffic).

It all depends on price range, house/apartment, etc.
